Thai Street Food Kitchen serves up amazing meals as spicy as you want! Check out this petite eatery on the south side of Lexington.

One chilly evening last winter, we stopped by Thai Street Food Kitchen in hopes of a meal that would warm us from the inside out.

And that's exactly what we got! The food was perfect.

This restaurant is one of those small places that you might easily overlook in a city brimming with food options. But it turned out to be one of my favorite Lexington discoveries.

    Finding Thai Street Food Kitchen

The restaurant is in the Clays Mills area, on the south side of Lexington.

It's not far from one of the Crank and Boom ice cream stores, in case dessert is also calling your name, Goodwood if you're looking for beer and bourbon, or Mr. Brews Taphouse.

For current hours, check the Thai Street Food Kitchen website. While online ordering doesn't appear to be available at the moment, you can call in a pickup order if you need to.

There are just a few tables in the small dining area, giving it a cozy feel. The dining area is super cute.

    Choosing From the Menu

I asked the server for a recommendation, and ended up with the Andaman Surfer, a sautéed seafood dish with a curry sauce. The curry sauce was thick (not soupy), and coated the seafood and veggies.

We also tried the Pad Kra Prow with Duck. It included onions, bell peppers, string beans, bamboo shoots, and basil. The duck was crispy and tender, and the chili garlic sauce sauce was a little soupier than the sauce on the Andaman Surfer.

    I couldn’t pick a favorite — I loved them both!

We ordered our meals Thai hot, and boy did they deliver! Both meals were spicy and amazing. I'm always impressed when a restaurant manages to give us something at that heat level.

We loved it so much that we returned, this time to try the Pad Khi Mao, or Drunken Noodles, with tofu.

And my choice the second time around was the Panang Curry with tofu.

    Both entrées were, again, wonderful.

These visits to Thai Street Food Kitchen have given me some of my favorite meals ever in Lexington! If you like Thai food, I hope you get to check it out too.

For other great eateries in this corner of Lexington, we suggest Tack House Pub for brunch and Pietana for pizza!
