For impressively good gyros and more, visit The Parthenon Greek-American Eats, a small café in Danville, Kentucky!
After a morning touring Wilderness Trail Distillery, one of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail's newest members, it was time to find something delicious for lunch.
That's when The Parthenon Greek-American Eats popped onto our radar. It's a Greek gyro shop in Danville, Kentucky, just a few miles from the distillery.
We were in the mood for gyros, so off we went. It was delicious! Here's what to try if you go.
Finding the Shop
The restaurant is located just a mile or so from downtown Danville, in a small shopping center next to a bowling alley.
There's both indoor and outdoor seating available.
You can browse the menu or order online through their website.
Gyros at The Parthenon Greek-American Eats
This shop does offer a variety of Greek food, but we focused on the gyros this time.
There are also changing specials: just check the board outside.
My husband ordered the classic gyro and I went for the veggie one.
In the past, I’ve been disappointed by veggie gyros that cost the same as their meat counterparts, but don’t have any extra veggies added.
This veggie gyro really delivered, though! It was packed with lots of tasty veggies AND it cost slightly less than the meat version.
Win and win.
Each gyro was served with a small chickpea salad.
We also ordered one side of Greek fries, and they came out well-seasoned and topped with feta. Yum!
