Sky Bridge Station near Kentucky's Red River Gorge offers up gourmet hot dogs, nachos and sandwiches for hungry hikers and gorge visitors!

Sky Bridge Station is a popular restaurant in the Red River Gorge, named after one of the area’s sandstone bridges.
Starting as primarily a guide service and gear shop in 2013, Sky Bridge Station quickly started to become known for its gourmet hot dogs and quesadillas. Over the years, they've expanded the restaurant side of the business and added more menu items.
Here's what to know if you're thinking of visiting!
Finding Sky Bridge Station
Sky Bridge Station is easy to get to, since it's right off the Mountain Parkway at the intersection of KY 715 and KY 15. It's a perfect stop-off point as you're entering or exiting the Red River Gorge area.
It's about a 5-minute drive from Koomer Ridge Campground and Silvermine Arch trail, 10 minutes from Gorge Underground, Gray's Arch trail, or Rock Bridge trail, and 15 minutes from Natural Bridge State Park.

The restaurant is located in a log cabin with a casual, homelike feel. There's a covered porch and picnic tables for outdoor dining.

Inside you'll find a corner for live music performances (check their Facebook page to see who's playing!). There's also usually a team trivia event every week.

The restaurant has more limited days and hours during the winter, which are posted on their social media.
On the Menu
As mentioned above, this place is known for its gourmet hot dogs, but there are other food options too.

The specialized topping combinations are available on either hot dogs or burgers (and the burger meat and bacon are locally sourced).

I’m a fan of their B.E.L.T. (a BLT with an egg).

They also have a selection of local beers available on tap. (Bear in mind that there are currently no alcohol sales allowed on Sundays in this county.)

Order at the counter, and then take a number to your table to wait.

The hot dogs we've tried include the Epic Journey (with bacon, fried onions, and jalapenos) and the Chili Cheese.

I highly recommend walking across the road to The Brick after your meal for ice cream or coffee. (I love their lattes!)
And I love browsing the Turtle Farm Pottery store inside The Brick.

Red River Gorge has so many fun things to do, and I'm thrilled that the food scene is just as appealing as the scenery. Want more local restaurant ideas? Try Red Point Barbeque, Red River Rockhouse, or Miguel's Pizza!
