For sandwiches, street tacos, and of course plenty of smoked meat entrées, visit Thatcher Barbecue Company near Natural Bridge State Park!

Every time I go to Red River Gorge these days, it feels like a more happening place than ever before. Especially the restaurant scene! There are so many great options now, and we've been able to try a lot of them.
Friends who live nearby recommended Thatcher Barbecue Company to us, and we found it to be a fun place after a long day of hiking. Here's a look at what it has to offer.
Where Is It Located?
It's super close to Miguel’s, just up the road (about a mile) from the activities at Natural Bridge State Resort, and also an easy distance from Red River Gorge Underground Kayaking, Koomer Ridge Campground, and lots of hikes in Red River Gorge.
There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but limited parking, especially during peak hours.

The Pit House next door is Thatcher's music venue and bar. (There wasn't any event happening when we were there.)

On the Menu at Thatcher Barbecue Company
Orders are taken inside at the counter. Everything came out really quickly for us!

Our table had:
⁃ Street tacos with a side, one order of chicken and one brisket. (Pictured are the pulled chicken tacos and corn side.)

⁃ Smokehouse nachos with chicken (this was HUGE)

⁃ Loaded mac n cheese

⁃ Pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese side.

Everything was delicious! Oh, and don't forget about their draft beers, which include some Kentucky brews.
If you're in the area and looking for a quick casual bite, Thatcher's is worth it!
