Planning where to eat in Bryce Canyon National Park? Here are a few tips to get you started in this small-town region of the state.

As popular as Bryce Canyon is with tourists, you could be excused for hoping on your first visit to find LOTS of food options and grocery stores.

But that wouldn't be quite accurate.

That's why a trip to this part of Utah needs to include at least a little forethought about where to eat in Bryce Canyon.

Here are the best ideas for restaurants and grocery supplies we found on our recent trip to the park!

Grocery Stores Outside the Bryce Area

Honestly, the best suggestion if you’re loading up on food for a vacation is to try and do most of your shopping before entering the area. You’ll pay a lot more for food if you wait until you get to Bryce.

The closest major grocery store chains are in in Cedar City, Utah, about an hour and a half west.

    The Markets in Bryce

Ruby’s Inn General Store is the closest market, and Clark’s Country Market is just a few minutes down the road.

The groceries at Ruby’s are a little pricy, but a nice option if you’ve forgotten something. Ruby’s is a fun stop for gifts and souvenirs as well as food.

Clark's Market is a small grocery store with what seemed like reasonable prices. They don’t have the selection you might be used to at a larger supermarket, but if you’ve forgotten something or need to pick up a few essential items, this is a great spot to check.

Keep in mind that shops around Bryce may adjust hours for the winter, or even close down.

Where to Eat at Bryce Canyon Restaurants

The community outside Bryce Canyon is smaller than the community near Zion, but there are still several nice food options! We enjoyed Showdowns Restaurant, Arriba Mexican Grill, and Bryce Canyon Coffee Co.

We also stopped at the Sevier Coffee Co. on our way out of town and had a delicious cheese danish. It's open seasonally.

Camp Store + Restaurants To Eat At Within Bryce Canyon

The Bryce Canyon camp store has a small selection of groceries.

There’s also a restaurant in the lodge and a small pizza restaurant/coffee shop (Valhalla Pizzeria) next door.

These options within the park typically close for the winter.

    Cooking at Your Campsite

If you're camping, hopefully you've been able to stock up on ingredients for meals at your site.

We love campfire meals, and since our evenings at Bryce were chilly, we recommend making cozy dishes such as this campfire red lentil stew, campfire chili and campfire lasagna with sausage.

Need equipment suggestions? See my post on the best camping kitchen gear for ideas like a camp Dutch oven or an adjustable campfire grill.
