Mr. Brews Taphouse offers pub food and local beers on tap at its location on the south side of Lexington. It's ideal for a casual meal!
Mr. Brews Taphouse is a Wisconsin original, but it's been expanding its reach through other Midwest states, and now it's also in Lexington, Kentucky. Head to this casual burgers and brews spot for a reasonably affordable meal and lots of beers on tap!
Located off Nicholasville Road near Fayette Mall, Mr. Brews has a nice atmosphere and is fairly quiet even with TVs throughout the dining area.
They advertise that "kids eat free" certain days, so it's also a somewhat kid-friendly restaurant. See their daily specials online for a heads-up on the kids' meals, and also Happy Hour deals.
There was outdoor seating but it was a hot day, so we stayed inside.
The Menu at Mr. Brews Taphouse
Starting at drinks, there are lots of craft beers on tap (about 60!), including a lot of local breweries. Check out the menu and up-to-date beer list online.
Some of the beers you'll see are limited-release, so each time you visit there will probably be a slightly different lineup from the last time.
Not overly fond of beer? You should also be able to find several hard ciders on tap.
We tried and enjoyed the Rhinegeist Electric Glow (a Cincinnati beer) and the Brooklyn Bel Air sour.
Customers are encouraged to request other brands of craft beer — so you just might get access to a favorite brew later on!
For our meal we had a turkey burger, a "Brews-Chetta" burger, a basket of fries with Parmesan cheese, and a Caesar side salad.
The turkey burger comes with a wonderful cranberry aioli.
The bruschetta burger is dressed with a pesto mayonnaise and served on a Parmesan garlic bun. It's those little touches that made us want to come back for more!
You can also order your burger as a bowl if you prefer to skip the bun or substitute a different protein option (including plant-based).
The food at Mr. Brews Taphouse was tasty, and the prices were great. Service was also really good. We'll be back, and we hope you get to try it out too!
