Bardstown Burger is a casual spot for a quick bite while checking out the sights in this central Kentucky small town.

Bardstown, Kentucky, is a rather charming place.
It combines a booming modern bourbon industry with a downtown aesthetic that's centuries in the making.
And we like experiencing both sides of it!
So on a recent weekend getaway, we lunched at the shiny new Bardstown Bourbon Company, but we also took in a play at My Old Kentucky Home State Park and ambled along the streets of the downtown area in search of supper.
We tried for one of the very popular restaurants in the middle of town, but the wait time seemed discouragingly long. Then a short walk down Third Street brought us to Bardstown Burger. It was tiny, but also quick and tasty! And at the moment, that was exactly what was needed.

The Menu at Bardstown Burger
The menu at Bardstown Burger is short and to-the-point. You can have a burger (or veggie burger) or your choice of a few other sandwiches.
You can pick a signature burger with toppings already set, or you can build a custom one.

The employee taking our order was patient and helpful while we all figured out what we wanted.
You can check out the current menu at the Bardstown Burger website.

Seating Options
There are several tables inside, including in a little alcove tucked away behind the ordering area.

But for our party of five, we headed all the way back to the little bricked-in courtyard. There are just two tables back there, but they're big enough for a group.

After only a few minutes' wait, our burgers, chicken sandwich, fries and onion rings came out on trays, and we dug right in. Everything had that taste of homemade freshness to it, hitting the spot for this group of hungry travelers.

Bardstown Burger also has a selection of beers, including the much-enjoyed Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale made in Lexington. And their milkshakes get top billing along with their hamburgers, although we didn't try one this time.
This little spot is a great choice to fit between the bigger destinations on your Bardstown trip. It gets a lot of love from local residents too.
Looking to fill out a complete itinerary? Don't miss the distilleries at Lux Row and Bardstown Bourbon Company! Also, the reservations-only bar and tapas place at Willett Distillery is fantastic!
