Jeptha Creed Distillery on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail offers tours, tastings, and mixology classes to create fun seasonal cocktails!

Jeptha Creed Distillery, located in Shelbyville, Kentucky, is a small, family-owned operation. It's a somewhat new distillery, open since about 2016.

Although our usual approach to Kentucky Bourbon Trail distilleries is to try a basic tour and tasting, with Jeptha Creed we visited for their Mixology class instead.

Here is what we enjoyed from this central Kentucky bourbon producer!

    Gift Shop at Jeptha Creed

The gift shop has lots of options. We were especially impressed by their dandelion bitters (made locally), paw paw brandy (I love that it uses a local fruit), and the coffee vodka (it tasted like spiked coffee).

At home, I used the pawpaw brandy in this summer sangria and the coffee vodka to make mocha martinis!

We also picked up some of their straight bourbon, since we didn't get to try it in the class. It was both sweet and spicy, and we really enjoyed it!

There's a tasting area in the gift shop, and we saw a group doing a tasting experience here as we were leaving.

    Creed Café

You can order cocktails or food from Creed Café.

We ordered pizza and brussels sprouts here after our mixology class. (They were delicious.)

At the bar, you can order samplers of vodka, moonshine, and bourbon, as well as craft or classic cocktails.

The enclosed patio is a nice spot for relaxing with your food from the café. There were several game options.

Just past the enclosed patio, there was an outdoor patio area and an event stage.

    Mixology Class at Jeptha Creed

This class was so much fun! It was beginner friendly. The setup looked a little intimidating, but the instructor explained everything step by step.

The class cocktails change seasonally (they're listed when you reserve your spot online). We loved our wintertime comfort cocktails.

One was a Jeptha Chocolate Orange, a nice sipping cocktail that wasn't overly sweet. We had some time to relax and enjoy our drink and a snack before moving onto the next cocktail.

Next we made a Bourbon Bonfire, a sweeter cocktail topped with toasted marshmallows!

We really enjoyed the experience from start to finish! Check Jeptha Creed's website for a full listing of tours, tastings and classes.
