Ardenne's Taproom & Kitchen is a charming brewery in New York's Finger Lakes region. They offer delicious small plates, as well as flights of beer.
If you're sightseeing in the Finger Lakes region of New York, there's a good chance that local food and drink will make it onto your schedule at some point.
Or, if you're like us, maybe it becomes the whole focus of the trip!
Either way, it's good to have a few possibilities picked out depending on which of the lakes you'll be near.
Ardenne's Taproom and Kitchen is an adorable tap house in Geneva, New York, near Seneca Lake.
Considering a visit? Here's what to expect if you go!
What is Ardenne's Taproom Known For?
Ardenne's is a Belgian-style brewery with a farm-to-table kitchen.
To see what's currently on tap, visit their website.
We shared a flight with a variety of their beers on tap. (Custom flights come with two larger pours. We opted to get separate 4-ounce pours.)
Besides their beers, Ardenne's also sells New York-produced wines and ciders (and some non-alcoholic drinks too).
They also had a variety of specialty barrel-aged beers available.
What's Up With the Little Dogs on the Labels?
I really liked the little dogs on their beer labels!
Their names are Barley and Hops, and they're real-life pets and mascots at the brewery. They even have a dedicated Instagram page.
They bring the fun!
Can I Tour Ardenne's?
The brewery does offer a VIP tour and tasting on some Saturdays. It's called "Between the Tanks," and you should book ahead on the website.
Do I Need a Reservation for the Taproom?
Not necessarily, if your group is small.
If you do want to make a reservation, or if you have 7 people or more, you can call ahead or book online.
The tasting room and kitchen are open Wednesday through Sunday, but check the website for specific hours.
Even though they opened at 11 a.m. the day we visited, there was no food available until 3 p.m. (We had planned on visiting for lunch but came back later in the day.)
Food Selection at Ardenne's Taproom
Our group shared the savory beer mussels, Belgian frites, Brewmaster's sausage and mushroom fancy toast.
All of the food options were delicious, especially the mussels (steamed in wheat beer and full of buttery, garlicky flavor!) and the mushroom toast (with wonderful goat cheese).
These were served as shareables/small plates (so don’t come starving — although they do also have a burger on the menu, and there are other times where they serve full meals).
Suggested beer pairings are listed alongside each menu item.
There was indoor and outdoor seating.
On some Friday and Saturday nights, they offer a full dinner experience with seasonal food, live music and a special beer or wine pairing. Reservations are definitely needed for these dinners.
Brunch is also available on Sunday afternoons.
Don't forget to do a little browsing at the shop while you're here — the happy little dog labels make these beers extra suitable as souvenirs or gifts.
I hope you get a chance to visit this lovely little taproom in upstate New York.
Seneca Lake is surrounded by lots of other fun things to do, including hiking through the gorge or camping at Watkins Glen, or visiting other food and drink spots like the Ginny Lee Cafe, Billsboro Winery, Barnstormer Winery, Lakewood Vineyards, Bagley's Poplar Ridge Vineyards, The Elf in the Oak, and JR Dill Winery.
