The Kitchen Table is Beam Distillery's on-site restaurant offering southern classics, gourmet pizza, and lots of cocktail choices!

On a weekend trip to Louisville, we spent a morning at Bernheim Forest, and then realized that we were only about five minutes away from the Beam Distillery.

We decided to stop in at the Beam Distillery’s restaurant The Kitchen Table for lunch.

To get to the restaurant, park by the visitor center and follow the signs to the restaurant. It’s uphill and to the right of the visitor center.

    Should I Make a Reservation?

We were able to get a table on a Sunday afternoon with no reservations. That said, if you have your heart set on eating here , making a reservation wouldn’t be a bad idea.

There’s both an indoor and outdoor dining area, as well as seating at the bar.

    The Kitchen Table Menu

We started with a seasonal Old Fashioned that was delightfully ginger-heavy, and a Brown Derby, a new-to-us cocktail made with bourbon, grapefruit and honey. It was surprisingly tart and sweet at the same time.

    Both drinks were fantastic.

Next, we tried the duck poppers as an appetizer. These were an interesting take on a jalapeño popper, and were also really delicious.

For our main dishes, we split the Bibb Salad and the Hot Brown Pizza.

The Bibb Salad was on the small side, and definitely felt like a side not a main. That said, the homemade cinnamon croutons were one of the best things I’ve ever eaten, and the salad as a whole was really great. It's made with roasted butternut squash and goat cheese too — just a really excellent combination of flavors.

They did ask if I wanted a meat added, which I declined, but if you wanted it to be more like a main dish I’d definitely recommend adding a protein.

We really enjoyed the Hot Brown Pizza, which basically seemed like a white turkey pizza. One pizza was enough for two people, especially when combined with the salad and appetizer.

This was a really nice spot for lunch and is definitely worth a visit, especially if you’re already touring the Beam Distillery or visiting the nearby Bernheim Forest!

Need a restaurant option closer to the downtown area? We loved the Cajun food at Lou Lou on Market.
