Raquette River Brewing is a brewery near Tupper Lake in the Adirondacks, and it makes a fun day trip if you're camping or hiking in the area.

A lot of restaurants in this area are seasonal, but the brewery is open year-round.

It's about 30 minutes from Lake Eaton, Cranberry Lake, or Rollins Pond, all good camping destinations. (If you're staying near Lake Eaton or Long Lake, know that some of the best views in the area can be seen from the summit of Owls Head Mountain!)

The brewery has a cozy indoor seating area that looks like a lodge, with lots of outdoor seating also.

They don't take reservations, but there's so much seating you probably don't need to worry!

In the summer months they often host live music.

There’s also a cute store with local goods available on site.

    What's the Beer Selection Like?

We were impressed with their selection of sour beers and dark beers, and we loved everything that we tried.

Raquette River Brewing seems to have fun trying out different flavors and ingredients in their beers, including things like hot peppers or maple syrup. Enjoy exploring whatever's on tap for the day!

The “puck drop sour ale” was my favorite.

Local wines and hard ciders are also available for purchase, along with a nice selection of cocktails.

The brewery itself doesn’t offer food, but multiple food trucks are parked outside.

When we visited on a Monday afternoon, only one was open, but I’d assume more are open on evenings and weekends, or during peak season. Check the brewery Facebook page for up-to-date info on what's open when!

If by chance none of the food trucks are open, they will let you know on Facebook and you can bring your own food.

We ordered from The Marketplace food truck.

We got fish tacos with fries and a shrimp and crab roll with potato salad. Everything was fantastic; the fish tacos were absolutely enormous!

This is definitely a nice stop if you’re in the area. We recommend it!

If you can't get all the way out to Tupper Lake, they also have a tasting room in Lake Placid.
