Haworth Old Post Office is a café in rural Yorkshire with deep historical connections, a fantastic menu, and fun seasonal drinks.

After a cozy morning snack at Villette Coffee House and a ramble to the nearby Bronte Parsonage Museum, it was time for lunch in the small Yorkshire village of Haworth.
I knew from the many delectable pictures I'd seen from the recently opened Haworth Old Post Office that I wanted to have a meal there, so we made our way over the cobblestones and up the time-worn steps.

It's located right next to the Black Bull pub near the top of Main Street, putting it right at the heart of the village, with incredible views to the rising moors in the distance.
Are you searching out places to eat on a trip to Haworth? Here's what the Old Post Office café has to offer.
The Restaurant's History
The post office was in operation from early Victorian times (and, in fact, its biggest claim to fame is that the Bronte sisters covertly mailed some of their manuscripts from here to London in the late 1840s).

The original postal counter, with its literary connections, is a big part of the restaurant's advertising. You'll see it as soon as you enter. They encourage even non-customers to come in (when we went, bathroom facilities were also available to non-customers).

There are a few souvenirs for sale on shelves near the door.
To the chagrin of local residents, the post office was closed in 2022. But it has taken on a new life as a café with an excellent reputation.

There are a couple of cozy seating areas inside, as well as outdoor seating both front and back.

There was no way we could sit outside (it was misting or raining the entire weekend), but maybe you'll be more fortunate.

What's on the Menu at Haworth Old Post Office?
The menu consists of brunch options, open-face sandwiches, and sharing boards.

The exact offerings may change, since they partner with local suppliers throughout the seasons. You can check the current lineup at their website.

At our table, we ordered the Belgian waffles (piled with bacon) and two smoked salmon open sandwiches, made with seasoned cream cheese and pickled red onion.

It was a wonderful lunch. I do wish, though, that I'd also ordered one of their cocktails or seasonal coffee drinks. The ones I've seen look amazing. If you are able to visit, do check back in and let me know what you tried!
