Aqua Restaurant and Spa is a waterside restaurant in Duck, North Carolina. Enjoy lunch or dinner with a gorgeous view of the Outer Banks' Currituck Sound!

Any time you get to spend a few days relaxing at the Outer Banks, one thing becomes clear.
It's all about the water.
Watching the sun rise over the water. Walking or wading or swimming in the water. And yes, also eating by the water!
There's something about it that makes it easier to slow down and savor the moments.
That's why, on a recent quick getaway to the Outer Banks, we sought out Aqua Restaurant for one of our meals.

This place was really good!
Located in Duck, North Carolina, which is just north of Kitty Hawk and Nags Head, Aqua Restaurant perches right on the edge of Currituck Sound.
Planning a vacation in the Outer Banks? Check out the highlights along Cape Hatteras National Seashore or at Jockey's Ridge State Park! Off-season activities can be fun too.
Currituck Sound is a stretch of water between the Outer Banks and the mainland. At Duck, North Carolina, the sound is about four miles wide.
So from the restaurant deck, you have a nice, expansive view of the western horizon!

Planning to Visit Aqua Restaurant
The restaurant wasn't busy when we went, which was a Sunday afternoon in late November. So we were able to get outdoor seating with no problem.

There's an outdoor waiting space, so I'm sure the restaurant can get pretty busy, no doubt especially during peak season.

Aqua's website says you can call for reservations for indoor seating (which also has great views of the water). Outdoor seating is first-come, first-served.

Aqua has specific lunch and dinner hours, and sometimes they have live music! (They didn't when we were there, though.)
Intriguingly, there's also a spa on site! We didn't try it on our visit.

The Menu
The menu at Aqua Restaurant includes soups, salads, and some sandwiches or wraps. There were also several seafood options.

When I see fish tacos on a menu, I order them. It's as simple as that.
I love making them at home too, but I'm always interested to see what each restaurant has come up with.
So I went for the grilled mahi fish tacos, and they were perfect!

The husband splurged on the "Triple P" (Peppered Pastrami Panini).
The panini normally comes with chips, but he substituted truffle fries. It was a good call! I helped him eat the fries, and we were both happy.

We were completely satisfied with our lunch at Aqua Restaurant. The view was so relaxing, and the food was great!
The restaurant is open most of the year, with just a short break in the winter. So if you find yourself in the Outer Banks looking for local eateries, Aqua Restaurant is one to check out!
