Lalique at Glenturret Distillery offers an exquisite two-Michelin-star dining experience on the edge of Scotland's Highlands.

Lalique at Glenturret distillery is a 2-star Michelin restaurant (as of 2026), and also Scotland’s only Michelin restaurant located inside a distillery. When an opportunity to try it came up, we knew we wanted to splurge!

If you’re celebrating a special occasion, love the idea of combining a distillery visit with a meal experience, or simply love good food, this is an amazing spot to try.

    Location at Glenturret

The Glenturret Distillery is located in Crieff, just over an hour's drive from Glasgow.

Glenturret is also famous for its (former) cat Towser, who holds the Guinness world record for most mice caught over a lifetime.

Glenturret is easiest to access by car, although you could also use a prearranged hired car service. The roads near Lalique are narrow, and depending on which direction you arrive from, may be a little harrowing.

We arrived from the north after visiting Loch Ness (A9 from near Birnam, connecting to A822), and those roads were narrow, steep and had multiple sharp blind turns. The roads we took to leave (through Crieff) to the south towards Glasgow) were generally much easier.

If you plan on coming for dinner, I’d recommend either having a designated driver, prearranging transportation or staying locally at the distillery’s inn, The Aberturret House.

To stay at Aberturret House, book early (it only has six rooms), and use the distillery’s Gastronomic Stay Experience option, which includes dinner at Lalique, lodging, and breakfast at the inn.

I highly recommend the Gastronomic Stay Experience if it’s available.

    Tasting Menu at Lalique

Because Lalique uses a set multi-course menu, you don’t choose your food upon arrival. Upon booking, we were able to let them know about any food allergies or preferences, and they were able to accommodate.

Some guests we spoke to had adjusted menus because of a preference for no mushrooms; another had requested a Halal menu; and everyone we spoke to found the Lalique staff to be very accommodating.

Our Dinner Experience at Lalique at Glenturret

In short, our experience at Lalique was exceptional from start to finish.

After being warmly welcomed at the inn, we settled in and then walked to Lalique.
We started with cocktails in the Lalique lounge.

When it was time for dinner, we moved to our table in the restaurant. At this point, my husband opted for the whiskey flight, which was served throughout the meal one-by-one instead of all at once.

His favorite whisky from the flight was the Glenturret Triple Wood, which was awarded the title of world's top single malt Scotch whisky in 2023 at the International Wines and Spirits Competition.

Dinner started with several appetizers, each of which was a small bite. Everything was so pretty! Both of us loved the tattie scone (a potato puff inspired by Scottish breakfast hashbrown tattie scones).

Next, we were served the malted barley sourdough, made with barley used at the distillery. It came with two types of butter and sauces, and was one of my favorite items of the dinner.

When it was time for our “main courses” (which were also tiny small bites), the dishes continued to impress. Our favorite mains were the langoustine cracker (pictured at the top of the post) and the scallop.

I also quite liked the turbot fish dish (bottom right below), despite not caring for turbot when I tried it in Belgium.

Finally, it was time for dessert. Honestly, by this point I was so full that I struggled to finish the desserts, but I did try my best!

My favorite of the three desserts was the mille-feuille pastry topped with Glenturret whisky syrup.

We were also served a tiny berry cheesecake (I took one bite to try it) and some small candies (I took them home in a box).

In total, our visit took about four hours, and felt like it was an entire culinary experience, not just a meal.

Our time at Lalique was absolutely delightful beyond what I’d expected, and is one of my all-time favorite food experiences.
