Cool Cats Hot Dogs is a casual eatery in Chamonix, France offering cocktails and fun food combinations that can all be served inside a bun.

Our visit to Chamonix was mainly focused on completing the epic Tour du Mont Blanc, but before and after the hike we did have time to check out the local food scene.
Cool Cats Hot Dogs is a popular casual spot in Chamonix, just around corner from the stunning view pictured below. Check their open hours on their Facebook page.

The dining area consists of tables in a shaded courtyard. It was a quiet spot when we went, but sometimes there's live music.

How to Order at Cool Cats Hot Dogs
As the name says, you get hot dogs at this place. But I would say it's kind of a stretch to call them hot dogs. The filling options are much more varied than you might expect.
It is true that most items are served in a hot dog bun, though.

You choose the meat you prefer (or vegan sausage is available) and then pick the style of hot dog (there are more than a dozen sets of topping and flavor combos).
The employees at the counter spoke very good English and were explaining how it worked to the group in front of us.

The menu gets refreshed seasonally.

We ordered a beer and a rose cider. They also have a selection of sangrias and spritz cocktails.

For our hot dog selections, I chose the Korean style (with a sausage base). The spicy kimchi on this one was fabulous! I did end up tackling it with a fork and knife because it was rather unwieldy.

We also ordered the Big Apple hot dog (with a base of pulled pork). The pulled pork and apple combination worked really well, and there were grilled onions, arugula, and big cubes of blue cheese hiding in there for extra flavor pops.

There are a few different kinds of fries you can order on the side. We tried the patatas gravas à la cool cats. They were absolutely delicious, and I loved the spicy chili and garlic mayo.

To extend your foodie adventures in Chamonix, I also recommend Casa Nonna, Le Comptoir des Alpes, and Big Mountain Brewing Co. Basecamp Cafe.
