This spicy hot chocolate is made with warm milk, hot chocolate mix, a pinch of cayenne and coffee liqueur. Top it with whipped cream for a decadent sweet treat!
1ouncecoffee liqueur (plus more if desired)Or use chocolate liqueur
Whipped Cream (Optional):
½cupwhipping cream or full-fat coconut milk
¼cupsugar
Instructions
Spicy Hot Chocolate:
Warm milk in a pot over low heat. Remove milk from heat as soon as it begins to steam. (Boiling milk could scald the bottom of your pot.)
Stir in the hot chocolate mix until dissolved. Stir in the liqueur. Pour hot chocolate into a mug.
Whipped Cream (Optional):
Put cream or coconut milk and sugar in a chilled bowl, and use an electric hand mixer to whip into stiff peaks. Spoon desired amount onto hot chocolate and store the rest in the fridge for up to 3 das. (Or use remainder for another hot chocolate).
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version: Skip the liqueur. Optionally, add a shot of espresso and turn this into a mocha.Nutrition information assumes 2% milk was used, and does not include the optional whipped cream.
