I tried Bright Cellars new Monthly Cheese Club, and here's what I thought!

Bright Cellars Review – Monthly Cheese Club

If gourmet cheese delivered straight to your door sounds like a dream come true, dream no more!  Bright Cellars Monthly Cheese Club sends you four cheeses a month, custom picked for you!  I tried it for a month, and here’s what I thought.  Note: Bright Cellars sent me their cheeses in exchange for my honest review.

Calling all cheese lovers!  Listen up!  There’s a new cheese delivery service in town, and I’m kind of excited about it.  Here’s why– I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how many times I’ve stared in confusion at the bazillions of cheese options in the grocery store.  It’s the worst when stores have cooler after cooler of cheeses with exotic-sounding names from far-off locations, but the confusion also happens in smaller stores.  As much as I want to be an expert on all things cheese, the selections can be overwhelming.  Bright Cellars is here to help.

(If you read “Cheese Club,” and are already sold, go ahead and take the CHEESE TASTE QUIZ!)

Keep reading– Bright Cellars also sent me a coupon for you!

Has the winter weather taken its toll on you this year?  Have you made it through cold and flu season unscathed?  We haven’t.  In fact, this winter has been a little bit rough.  Between the two of us, the husband and I have managed to catch what seems like every cold virus coming and going.  We’re on the mend now (again), but I know some of you are still trying to get better.  When you aren’t buying tissues, making soup, and watching movies– there’s something else you should do.  You should make this Mint Tea Hot Toddy.

Try the World Review - Pantry

Try the World Review- Pantry

Interested in having gourmet ingredients from countries around the world delivered straight to your door?  Try the World’s Pantry service keeps your cabinets stocked all year long!  I recently tried three months of the service, and here’s what I thought!  Please Note: Try the World sent me their boxes in exchange for my honest Try the World Review.

My name is Sarah, and I have a problem.  I’m addicted to the gourmet food aisle.  That’s right– I can’t stop.  Fancy salt?  Sold.  Spices I’ve never heard of?  I’ll take them!  Infused oil?  Unusual pastas?  Olive oil from Timbuktu?  Mine, mine, and mine.  That said, it’s probably no surprise that I was thrilled, THRILLED, when I heard that Try the World was starting a ‘Pantry’ service.

Try the World, my favorite gourmet grocery delivery service, won my heart last year with their country-specific ‘signature’ food boxes.  Their new Pantry service is designed to stock your pantry with high-quality, gourmet specialty foods.  I recently tried a three month subscription to Pantry– here’s what I got, what I did with it, and what I thought about it.

This Ginger Orange Seared Ahi Tuna is a fishy take on Orange Chicken. This delicious dinner show-stopper is easy to prepare and ready in 15 minutes.  This post is sponsored by Orca Bay Seafoods, but as always, all opinions are my own.

Last year, I fell in love.  Yes, that’s right– I fell head over heels for a fish.  Which fish?  Was it salmon that captured my heart?  Cod that gave me a giddy smile?  Trout that made me gush to all my friends?  No, no, and nope!  (Although I won’t lie– I love all those fish too!)  This time, it was ahi tuna that made my heart skip a beat, and I just can’t get enough!  It’s flavor-packed, it’s filling and meaty, and best of all– it’s EASY!  As in, ridiculously easy.  This Ginger Orange Seared Ahi Tuna is a take on the meatier Orange Chicken.  It’s marinated for ten minutes, cooks in about one minute (yes that’s right– ONE minute), and is topped off with a simple sauce made from the marinade.

I’ve always been a breakfast cereal fan.  I love starting my day with a big bowl of Cheerios mixed with corn Chex– and yet I almost never do.  Why?  I’ll tell you why.  You know why.  It’s because– approximately 30 minutes (or less, sometimes less) after devouring a massive, multi-serving bowl of cereal deliciousness– I. Am. SO. HUNGRY!  Then, inevitably, I do something regrettable… like eating my entire packed lunch at 9am.

What’s a cereal-loving girl to do?  The answer, as you’ve probably already guessed– is muesli.  Muesli– a healthy, tasty mixture of rolled oats and other goodies– keeps me full.  It’s easy to prepare, it’s easy to customize, and is loaded with healthful, protein-laden ingredients.  You can eat muesli hot or cold, or even sprinkle it over yogurt!  This vegan-friendly Coconut Almond Muesli with Cacao Nibs* is ready in five minutes (or fifteen minutes– if you want to toast the oats), and is a filling and healthful breakfast cereal substitute!

What’s your favorite snack food?  What do you reach for when the mid-afternoon munchies hit?  Fruit?  A candy bar?  Personally, I tend go for one of two salty options– chips and salsa, or pretzels and hummus.  I tend to rotate back and forth between the two easy options, but lately I’ve had to stop and reconsider the store-bought hummus I’ve been buying.

Guys– there have been a lot of pre-made hummus recalls recently.  A lot.  So many recalls, that I’ve started to feel as if I’m playing Russian Roulette when I pick up a container of pre-made hummus.  I won’t lie– I did pick up some pre-made chipotle hummus recently, but it made me nervous.  Plus, homemade hummus is SO MUCH BETTER!  And it’s easy– incredibly, ridiculously easy.  This homemade Spicy Chipotle Hummus is ready in 5 minutes, start to finish, and you can feel good about your snack food as you devour bite after bite.
